This is a 3D printed sculpt of the Shokaku Class Carrier by EBard Models
An alternative to out of the box Axis and Allies pieces, 3D print opens a new world of customized pieces, where basically any historical ship can be obtained. We at A&A Boardgaming endorse these new pieces and will be offering a host of new ships over time, all custom painted and magnetized.
Shōkaku was a fleet carrier of the IJN and the lead ship of her class. Both her and sister ship Zuikaku, took part in several key naval battles during the Pacific War, including the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Ships of class:
• Shokaku - Sunk at the Battle of the Philippine Sea • Zuikaku - Sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf
Choose your specific ship from the class. Zuikaku images shown.
Each carrier comes with a unique, historically accurate flight deck decal. Choose either an early war wooden deck, or a camouflaged late war pattern.
This is the finest finished 3D printed Shokaku game piece on the market today. And it is the best value - It includes magnetization, a custom flight deck and fully painted for about the same price as others sell unfinished.
Each carrier has two strong neodymium rare earth magnets to hold two aircraft. Purchase a loaded carrier with matching magnetized aircraft and never have your airwing fall off a carrier again!
Default magnetic polarity is as shown.
Approximate dimensions (LWH): 64mm x 9 mm x 7mm
Note: These are created by a third-party 3D print company and require extra lead time to produce.

"Ok is it really worth it? If you are serious AAA player with a "yen" for historical accuracy (sorry I could'nt help it) then the answer is yes. Both carriers built in this class are offered and the details are nailed down. Remember that the Shokaku and Zuikaku were involved in every major naval action of the war including Pearl Harbor. I found the 3D print to be very clean and sturdy and the overall size fits perfectly with my other OOB and HBG sculpts. The decals complete the pieces nicely. They look great on the board loaded with magnetized fighters and bombers."

Visually Stunning and fun for the historians
"I couldn't agree more with the other reviews of these products. They really make your game "pop" and if you enjoy the historical aspects of the "kido butai", the different carriers allow you to actually portray Japan's Different Carrier Divisions. (Akagi and Kaga - Car Div I, Hiryu and Soryu - Car Div II etc). The pieces you recieve are spot on with the photographs on the website, so you won't be disappointed! The magnets for the carriers and their planes are fantastic! Finally, Greg is a pleasure to work with. I couldn't be happier with my new Kido Butai."
