IJN G4M Betty Summary

The Mitsubishi G4M Betty was a land based medium bomber operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was considered the best land-based naval bomber of its time. It had good performance and excellent range, but at the expense of almost no crew protections and no self-sealing fuel tanks. The fuel tanks tended to ignite with after just a few hits, causing heavy losses in combat. The Betty was the most widely produced Japanese bomber and participated in nearly every battle of the war.
