Graf Zeppelin Class Carrier Summary

This is a 3D printed sculpt of the Graf Zeppelin Class Aircraft Carrier by EBard Models

An alternative to out of the box Axis and Allies pieces, 3D print opens a new world of customized pieces, where basically any historical ship can be obtained. We use 3D printed game pieces regularly to enhance the realism of our fleet and also to use as equipment upgrade paths during the game.

These 3D designs by EBard offer exceptional detail and combined with our custom painting and decal graphics, make these ships simply the finest 3D printed game pieces available. These are guaranteed to become the most prized pieces in your collection.

The Graf Zeppelin was the lead ship in a class of two carriers of the same name ordered by the Kriegsmarine. She was the only aircraft carrier launched by Germany and represented part of the Kriegsmarine's attempt to create a well-balanced oceangoing fleet, capable of projecting German naval power far beyond the narrow confines of the Baltic and North Seas. The carrier was designed to carry 42 fighters and dive bombers.

Construction began on 28 December 1936 andwas launched on 8 December 1938. It was only 85% complete by the outbreak of World War II in September 1939. Graf Zeppelin was never completed due to shifting construction priorities necessitated by the war. She remained in the Baltic for the duration of the war and its crew scuttled her just outside Stettin in March 1945. The Soviet Union raised the ship in March 1946, and she was ultimately sunk again in weapons tests north of Poland 17 months later.

The individual ships of this class were never formally named, but possible names were Peter Strasser, Wesser & Sachsen. None were ever completed.

This is the finest finished 3D printed Graf Zeppelin game piece on the market today. And it is the best value - It includes magnetization, a custom flight deck and fully painted for about the same price as others sell unfinished.

Purchase a loaded carrier and get a discount on magnetized aircraft.

Each carrier comes with a unique, historically accurate flight deck decal and two strong neodymium rare earth magnets to hold two aircraft. Optionally load your carrier with matching magnetized aircraft. Never have your airwing fall off a carrier again!

Default magnetic polarity is as shown.

Optionally include an assembled magnetic damage marker.

Approximate dimensions (LWD): 64mm x 9mm x 9mm
