Ark Royal - HBG Summary

This is a 3D printed resin sculpt of the Ark Royal aircraft carrier by HBG.

The HMS Ark Royal was a cutting edge design in her day. She was the first carrier designed with hangars and flight deck integrated into the hull, instead of as an add-on or part of the superstructure. She was designed to carry a large number of aircraft which US planners thought translated into battlefield survivability. Her distinguishing feature is how much of her mass resides above the waterline. She was torpedoed and sunk in November 1941.
